ProChile will continue its partnership and participation with eMerge Americas for the fourth consecutive year, in Miami from April 18 to 19. Since 2007, Chile has been Latin America's leading tech hub and ranks among the world’s top 50 most innovative countries.
eMerge Americas, the United States’ premier technology conference, brings together venture capital investors, entrepreneurs, and tech innovators who are shaping the future of industry innovation. Chile will be represented by fifteen companies at the Miami conference, including: Rocketbot, Schoolin1, Swetekno, Hacknoid, Tu Clase, YouTouch, Prevsis, Altavoz, Rukots, Pawer, Goohaus, MitraGlobal, Spectum, Comunidad Feliz, and PinUp.
“Nearly 100 companies were selected to compete at the conference, 15 of which are from Chile. This shows that the country is at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship in Latin America,” said Claudia Serrer, Commercial Attaché of ProChile in Miami. “These companies have performed remarkably well in our country, and our job now is to help them grow their operations in new markets, including the United States,” Serrer added.
Additionally, there will be an engaging roundtable analyzing the extraordinary trajectory of a Chilean company that has become a leader in global AI innovation. The audience will learn about its recent recognition as the most innovative company in AI development at the Internet 2.0 Conference in Dubai, in February 2024. Led by Claudia Serrer, Commercial Attaché of ProChile in Miami, and Edmundo Casas, Founder and CEO of Kauel Inc, this session will provide valuable insights into Chile’s burgeoning tech ecosystem and the pioneering role of its companies in advancing AI globally.
New this year will be a dedicated area for artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing, two closely related fields now merging even more seamlessly. A special space will be set aside for startups focused on these topics, as well as an entire pavilion dedicated to HealthTech innovation, the intersection of health and technology.
Currently, 140 Chilean tech companies operate in the United States. Florida is home to 38 of these companies, launched in the U.S. market over the past five years across various cities, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, and Tampa.
In 2023, Chilean service exports reached $2.153 billion, a 55.5% increase from 2022, according to ProChile’s Market Intelligence Department, based on National Customs Service data. This marks a new record since records began, for this sector of non-traditional Chilean exports. Chilean services were exported to 131 different markets, predominantly in South America, the United States, and Europe, but also to Asian countries such as China, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
The United States was the largest export market, with a total of $473 million, reflecting a 52.2% increase from 2022 and representing a 22% share of total exports.
The expansion of Chilean tech companies can be attributed to various ProChile-led initiatives such as GoGlobal, a soft landing and mentoring program held annually in Miami since 2019, which has supported over 130 startups across its four editions.
Part of this success stems from an effort by the Chilean government to develop a local innovation ecosystem and support the creation of innovative, scalable, high-impact, and technology-based companies.
